The Hue – Phong Nha tourist train is invested by Vietnam Railways and is expected to start running on August 28, 2026.
🚂 Train Facilities
The train has 8 carriages carrying up to 304 passengers, including:
* 1 VIP carriage (24 seats)
* 5 soft-seat carriages with 360-degree rotating seats (56 seats each)
* 1 community carriage
* 1 service and entertainment carriage

The train design highlights the unique culture, tourism, and world heritage of Hue, Quang Tri, and Quang Binh, giving it a distinctive look compared to standard trains.
🛤️ Route & Key Stops
The train covers a 190 km route stopping at: Hue – Dong Ha – My Trach – Dong Hoi – Tho Loc. Each station offers a unique local highlight:
* Hue: Cultural heritage destination
* Dong Ha: Destination of peace
* My Trach: Memories and historical figures
* Dong Hoi: Gateway to beach tourism
* Tho Loc: Gateway to world natural heritage
📸 Special Experiences
Photo check-in spots and local product (OCOP) shops will be available at the stations. A “flower railway” will also be planted along the route for a scenic travel experience.

* Train HQ2 (Hue to Tho Loc): Departs Hue at 7:15 AM – Arrives at Tho Loc at 11:55 AM.
* Train HQ1 (Tho Loc to Hue): Departs Tho Loc at 13:15 – Arrives at Hue at 17:25 PM.
